The pandemic era has been busy and productive for me. One of the more interesting projects was helping L. R. Travis write and assemble his brief memoir, How I Lived Through and Survived Brutality. The paperback is now available on Amazon , and the ebook will be out in a few days.
I first came to know L. R. several months ago; not soon afterwards I wanted to know his story, for I could tell he had one.
L. R. had a difficult, abusive childhood, and still bears its physical and emotional scars. He grew up to be an angry bully, intent on destroying those who had hurt him and then himself. His transformation has been remarkable, but he is in many ways a fragile man, physically and otherwise.
L. R.’s story is sad but it is also encouraging. It shows that one can overcome an abusive start in life and that the power of forgiveness is real. He is not a writer, but his story is interesting. I hope you will support him by buying one or more copies of his book.
